Hello SunBurn community!
We’ve just rolled out an update to SunBurn Game Engine 2.0.12, which reduces the minimal software requirements when shipping games on Windows (now available in the Downloads section).
As many SunBurn developers know, until now the Early Adopter releases have required the full .Net 4.0 and full XNA 4.0 distributions installed on PCs running SunBurn games. However we’ve now reduced SunBurn’s software requirements to match XNA’s.
With this and all future SunBurn updates you can ship games, which require only the:
- XNA 4.0 Redistributable (6.7M)
- .Net 4.0 Client Profile (0.8M web installer – also required by XNA 4.0)
The update download page includes instructions on both installing and using the new redistributable SunBurn assembly (DLL). As well as links to SunBurn documentation covering various ways to package and publish SunBurn games targeting Windows.
If you have any questions or comments let us know!
