Since our first product; the Synapse Gaming Lighting Kit, we've continued to expand the professionalism, flexibility, and visual impact of games created by professional and indie developers alike.

Over the years Synapse Gaming's product and service portfolio has grown to cover all aspects of game development, from visually stunning graphics, to user-friendly content pipelines, to high-performance engine and networking software.

Helping to build the next generation of game developers, Synapse Gaming hosts conference break-out sessions, offers training programs, and provides free educational versions of our technology products.

John Kabus "bobthecbuilder" - Founder / SunBurn Engine Architect

Bio: I'm the founder and current head of Synapse Gaming, as well as lead developer on the SunBurn Engine.

I started the company in 2003 to help developers build better games faster, by providing quality, yet affordable, tools and technology. Over the past five years we've developed a number of products, which helped launch many new games and game developers.

In 2006 I started envisioning our next series of products – featuring the latest lighting and rendering technology, a highly modular and flexible design, and extremely easy to use. In the summer of 2007 that vision turned into SunBurn, and only a few months later it was already making an impact on game developers, application developers, and hobbyist alike.

Ross "FiveSidedBarrel" - Lead Tools Developer

Bio: I've worked with Synapse Gaming since Jan '07, first doing community tech support for legacy products then moving to development with our focus on XNA. Since then I've become the resident code monkey and lead developer for the SunBurn Editor.

I have been working with games for as long as I can remember: first making maps, then coding mods, now working on full-fledged game engines. I also have a questionable attraction towards collision detection and artificial intelligence, as these make up the bulk of my hobby work.

Alex "Turbosmooth Operator" - Lead Art Director

Bio: I'm the resident specialist in the art side of asset development here at SG. In a way, I'm the "middle man" as such between the more engineering minded developers, such as our in house developers, Ross and John, and the more art asset geared user, such as myself.

Being that, at times, we can seem to speak different languages ("for loop" jokes have no effect on me) any art oriented questions can be directed towards me and I'd be happy to help.
